College of Education

New students will:

  1. Meet college advising representatives in a group setting during Orientation to:
    1. Discuss College of Education admission requirements needed for enrollment in 3000/4000 level classes
    2. Review degree program requirements
    3. Understand expectations and responsibilities associated with a career in education;
  2. Be advised by the College of Education Office of Student Affairs (ED 110) if their major is Education Pending and be advised in the Academic Advising Center (ED 175) if their major is Elementary Education. Academic advising sessions may be scheduled by calling (407) 823-3723 or (407) 823-5369; and,
  3. Be assigned to an academic advisor in the area of their major upon completion of College of Education admission requirements. The academic advisor’s name and telephone number appear on the Degree Audit to assist students in making an advising appointment.

Continuing students will:

  1. Set up an appointment with an academic advisor if accepted in a major or the Office of Student Affairs, if a “pending major”, to review academic progress and to develop an academic plan. Students are expected to review their plan of study each term with an advisor prior to registration;
  2. Register at scheduled appointment time in myUCF. Students must complete any changes to their schedules by the end of the published Add period; and,
  3. File an “Intent to Graduate” on-line by the end of the term prior to the term in which graduation is intended.
